Engine-ious......who?

A man , woman and child are posing for a picture in front of a mountain.

Make no mistake, Engine-ious Models is very much a cottage industry in its infancy. A little seedling that has put down its first roots and is emerging into the model business world, working from a back bedroom and a garage with some basic kit and 3D printing equipment.

Many years ago when I was in my teens, I built an N-gauge layout in my bedroom. Hours of quiet fun, inspired by my uncle's passion for railways and my dad's DIY and artistic skills; it left me with many fond memories. Sometime during that period, I remember reading a Railway Modeller article about a model railway called Ivydale All-Hallows (December 1996), which featured a heavily weathered Manning Wardle. Not sure what it was, but something caught my eye with this diminutive little loco, which was beautifully scratch-built. I knew then that one day, I wanted to build something similar.

Whilst my modelling hobby faded somewhat as university and then work and travel took over, the desire to one day get into brass kit modelling, and eventually produce something of the standard I saw in RM over 20 years ago burned strong in the mind, albeit at a larger scale!

Having got back into the hobby with some of the excellent kits from the original Agenoria range, I taught myself CAD, 3D modelling and printing, casting and the dark art of painting, with the intention of producing commercially available kits. Now I can make that Manning Wardle I saw all those years ago, plus many others!

And here we are now. We are at the very start of the journey, and currenlty have a very limited range of products - but with big plans for the future! Subscribe to our social media streams to keep up to date with progress on future products.

We look forwards to seeing you at various shows in the future!
